One Year

It's been a while... and not just since the last post.

On Tuesday, March 27 we celebrated the one year anniversary of Julia Squared Photography.

I know, I'm late.

But no one's really reading this thing anyway, so I think I'm safe.

Oh well.

Welcome 2012

So happy new year and all that jazz (a bit late... whoops)

We redesigned the website (again, I know. I'm sorry) and the new one is a lot easier and nicer than the last (thakfully). Find it at www.juliasquaredphotography.weebly.com.

Other than that, lately we've been planning a post-exam-stress-relief hangout/photoshoot with our friends for a few weeks from now and the exact details of this photoshoot will remain a surprise for our friends until the day of.

We are also thinking of what we should do with Julia Squared Photography in the future- which post-secondary school to go to and plans for a studio being chief among them as of yet. We've got all sorts of dreams though (we're dreamers) and hope to see at least some of them through.

That's about it for after Christmas so far... nothing has really come up and so right now it's just ISU assignments and exams in the next few weeks and other regular parts of life.

Santa?

It's been a while...

So here's a little update:

The family photo cards have been made and given to the families who liked them (phew!)

A couple weeks ago our youth group had its annual Christmas banquet and we did the photography for that. Got some amazing pictures of the group.

A few weeks ago, we were asked to do the photos for a young mom's banquet at out church.

That happened on Tuesday.

The kids there were adorable (and crazy! We poked our cameras though the door and they chased us down the hall screaming about paparazzi) and the dinner went well. Our friend, Craig, dressed up as Santa and gave each of the kids a stuffed animal. It was cool to see that.

That's about it for now.

Merry Christmas!

Family Christmas Cards

So we finished with all the family pictures for the Christmas cards the youth group is making!

It was pretty great.

Got some amazing pictures of some adorable kids and great families... still in the process of editing though (held back by a cold...).

But it's been amazing, overall. Everyday (except the last) being clear and sunny and the park perfectly suited for the photos (last day, yesterday, was still bright but slightly cloudy and most of the pictures were done at the church).

Now on to the editing process and the distributing of the pictures!

Christmas Cards...

So we're doing the photos of families in our church for their Christmas cards which will be put together by other youth people to sell to the families to raise money for our mission trip next summer.

So far it's been pretty good.

But last week, the boys pranked us and made an appointment for the "Smiths". When they didn't show up and the end of their time slot came, we decided to call.

Big mistake.

Mind you, I've learned the Pizza Nova number since, but the boys setting up a photoshoot for someone with the Pizza Nova phone number listed...

We were pretty mad- it was cold and we'd just spent a half hour waiting for no one to come.

So they better be prepared for our revenge...

That's about it for now... Again, check out the website: www.wix.com/jsquaredphotography/juliasquaredphotography

University...

So Julia S. and I went to the university fair in Toronto yesterday. It was pretty informative.

We discovered Ryerson University has a four year, in-depth, hands-on photography program, as well as a good journalism program with a chance at international work inside the program. This immediately excited us. We looked further into Ryerson and found just how perfect it is for us.

Located in downtown Toronto, Ryerson is within walking distance of pretty much everything we could hope for- Eaton Centre, Art Gallery of Ontario and several places perfect for photoshoots. It features an extensive collection of historic black and white photographs, a display that we instantly wanted to see. As well, our friend wants to go to York University, thus opening for us the possibility of renting an apartment between the schools for the three of us and living together.

The whole thought of university or college is both terrifying and exciting, and I'm glad to have some people to go through it with...
